To our partners and friends in the ministry,

Another year of opportunities and challenges in the ministry is before us!

We are grateful to the Lord and to all our friends and partners who are in one way or the other helping us in the Lord’s ministry. It was a blessing for us to meet many of you in person and get to know you in a personal way. The Lord brought us together in the fellowship of the gospel. Your support is a great help to us in our ministry.

We have shed many tears of loneliness for beloved son who is a student in Grace Bible College, Grand Rapids, MI. But we’re comforted with the strength of his words and the Word of God.

When we arrived in Kenya, we were met by many friends who were excited to know about our ministry while we were in the US. We told them we had a good time and enjoyed ministering the Word of God and telling about the Kenya ministry!

Since being back in Kenya we have been active in evangelism and preaching in the churches every Sunday. We were able to finish the church training program--"Bible Teachers’ Class." We also had a wonderful time with the graduates and guests during the graduation exercises. The graduates are looking forward to serving the Lord in various ministries.

Kenyan delegates along with TCM’s Executive Director went to Zambia January 12-19, to attend the African Leadership Conference. Nine African countries were represented, such as: Congo, Tanzania, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Cameroon, Kenya, Zambia, and South Africa. It was our joy to meet the brethren who are serving the Lord in these countries. We did enjoy Professor Dale DeWitt’s lecture on Ephesians 4. It really challenged us leaders in our particular areas of ministry, to make every effort to share the gospel with others and bring them to the knowledge of the truth.

We are planning to take a short furlough to the Philippines. Since we came to Kenya, we have not had a furlough, even when my mom died. Many Filipinos are excited that we’re coming home. They sent text and email exclaiming Mabuhay! Welcome home! There will be many opportunities to preach and teach the Word of God and challenge the Filipinos for missions. We need around $ 2000 more or less for fare. Please pray for this need, that the Lord will provide.

Thanks to all who sent gifts and encouraging letters to our son Charael at GBC. We appreciate it very much.

Yours in Christ’s service,

Carlo & Elma

P.S. When we return from the Philippines we will open a new field in Uganda. We are working on the paperwork required to enter that country. Please be in prayer for us as we anticipate this new ministry. We have read the books of Uganda, the first country in the world with a massive AIDS problem.
