In March 2004 we surveyed Uganda together with TCM director Ben Anderson. We prayed, surveyed the capital city, marked the common and bizarre places, mapped the city and viewed the impressive and unimpressive scenery that reached our eyes. We cried to the Lord and prayed, “Lord you brought us here in Uganda. Start your work within us so that we can plant a church and churches in different places in this country.” We rented a house during a second survey in August 2004 before transferring to Uganda on October 24, 2004 with all our belongings.
Foundation Started for Second Kampala Church, December 2011
Carlo & Elma Paña reporting from Kampala, Uganda: Our Luzira church building project cleared the Kampala City Council and Local Council the third week of November. A Filipino engineer has worked with us to draw the architectural plan. We built a strong foundation so that more floors can be added in the future. The funds we have so far are enough for the foundation, pillars and half of the walls. Several church members have volunteered time, food and funds to help with this project. Please pray with us that soon we will be holding regular meetings inside of our new church building. (Luzira is a suburb of Kampala, Uganda.)

At their meeting after the service, October 30th, they planned a youth fellowship and children’s ministry. They agreed for the youth fellowship on 17th December 2011. All youth in Luzira will come to Bukasa Church, and youth from Bukasa will invite youth from the community so they will know there is a grace church where they can hear the message of grace. The theme is: Uganda Grace Youth Light Bringers Bring the Message of the Grace of God- Titus 2:11,13. They will have a film showing how to invite youth for the next day. For children’s ministry we suggested to have DVBS in Bukasa. Everything will be finalized by November 17th.
These young people are mostly university students: President Shilla studies at Makerere University for a Bachelors Degree in Statistics. Joseph finished his Diploma in Electronics. David Drake is a chef in Heritage International School. David Wasadja is taking Engineering. Priscilla, Brenda and Patricia finished senior six and look forward to university. Two members are taking Law: Brian and Steve. Please pray for these young men and women to love to proclaim the message of the grace of God. We're proud to say they can stand on the truth about mystery and prophecy because they finished Bible Teachers Class and studied many books.
President Shilla expressed: “If we begin the church building project, we also will help out to minimize labour expense.” We're very happy for the youth plan and initiative for ministry. Let's join them with our prayers.
Thank you and God bless!
In Christ,
Carlo and Elma Paña
