Brief Bio
Joe was born and raised in Brazil where he came to know Jesus Christ as his personal Savior through the ministry of Doug and Vicki Le Feber in 1993. A few months later he felt a great burden in his heart to dedicate his life to full-time Christian ministry. Michelle (Le Feber) grew up as a missionary kid. She came to know the Lord at a young age and always had the desire to serve Him in Brazil.
Michelle began her formal education at Grace Bible College in 1989, with a perspective to go back to Brazil and work with hurting children. In 1993, she went to Brazil as a missionary and founded Project ABBA, a ministry focused on meeting the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of underprivileged children. During that time Joe was beginning his studies at a Bible Institute, and working in one of the TCM churches in Brazil. In 1995, Joe and Michelle married and felt the need to further their education. They attended Grace Bible College, where Joe graduated with a BTh in Pastoral Ministries, and Michelle with a BA in Human Services.
The Campos family returned to Brazil as TCM missionaries in 2002.

Serving the Lord
Joe and Michelle Campos are proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ to the people of Natal, a city in northeastern Brazil. The goal is to plant a Grace church in that city. Joe is also working with other Brazil missionaries to establish a distance training program using digital technology to raise up pastors and leaders for the churches.
Michelle and Joe also work together in a ministry to share the love of Christ with needy children, called PROJECT ABBA. This project is responsible for the training of Sunday school leaders, it runs a Christian Education library for the churches, and distributes clothing, medication and dental care when available to the children of our churches. In addition, Michelle is very busy taking care of a family of four beautiful children.
Prayer Needs
- For seeds to be planted in Natal, resulting in a church being planting.
- Homeschooling for three of their children.
- Raising funds to pay for homeschooling related expenses.
New Direction- March 2010 Update
After much survey, work and prayer, we have decided to target a new neighborhood in the greater Natal area, called Parnamirim. Through the school our children attended last year we developed some friendships and new contacts, and we feel God is giving us an opportunity to minister to them. Because we lack personnel and resources, our family strategy is basically meeting people and “scattering seeds.” Then we follow up and offer to disciple those whom the Lord have touched. It can be a slow process, but every time a seed flourishes into a healthy plant, we see the hand of God. This month God allowed us to rent a small office in the center of this new area, which will be our headquarters. It will be used for discipleling new believers, counseling, and one-on-one Bible study. Once more contacts are established, we will have Home Bible Studies and Services in Parnamirim.
Another main ministry will continue to be Leadership Training. The internet will allow me (Joe) to teach and train three men from Recife, who will come to Natal every couple of months to get some hands-on church planting experience. They will also have classes with Doug LeFeber and work in the churches in Recife. One of our main ministry needs in the work of Northern Brazil is key leaders for our churches. Our goal has always been to work ourselves “out of a job.”
And last, but not least, I am still working on creating an Organization of Grace Churches in Northern Brazil, including the churches in Aracaju, Recife, Serra Talhada, and soon, Natal. We envision local churches and leaders carrying forward the work in Brazil, propagating the message of the Grace of God.
