For the sake of His call ... Serving the Lord together in love
Like any other foreign land: all things are different, people are new and places are unfamiliar yet the ultimate goal is the same: to save the lost and to edify the saints. As a young missionary, it is not just a mere adventure but a challenge of faith that should be responded to with wisdom and courage.
Having learned some of the interesting details of South Africa’s biological diversity, its wealth and treasure, its mountains and conservation areas, its toll roads and cities, all of which illustrate the riches and variety in this wonderful country, our hearts remain excited to go back there and be part of the rainbow country again. We believe that on this second term of our mission in South Africa there are big opportunities for us to reach to different kinds of people and introduce to them the wonderful message of Grace.
Our primary goal in South Africa is to be able to establish a strong urban church in Johannesburg city. We are equipping ourselves with some strategic plans and approaches to accomplish this goal.
Part of this plan is to mentor qualified individuals to help achieve this goal. Evangelism, indoctrination, training and discipleship are some of the few approaches that we have planned to use. Our music and evangelistic team will also contribute to the propagation and advertisement of our ministry.
Another ministry that we are going to continue is the youth and children’s ministry.
As the Lord guides, it is our heart’s desire also to establish urban churches in other cities. Dean directs the work in South Africa and represents the South African ministry to TCM.
Email Update - June 30, 2008
Greetings from South Africa!
Hope you are doing well and in good health. We are both doing great here. The schools are off this time and they will resume their classes three weeks from now. Our campus ministry will start at the opening of the classes too. During this time lots of people in our area are on holidays. Some of the small churches nearby are actually close. Only our small church survives during holidays and the good thing is, when other churches are close some members are coming to us. So, we usually have more people during this time. Just like yesterday, we had a good number of people, though only few came from other churches but some members of our Bible study came.
We are growing both in quality and quantity. All our people are new to the Grace message as we started the church from nothing. The oldest are just 1 year and 8 months but its amazing how they grow in the knowledge of the truth. They came from different backgrounds and the moment they attended they got attracted to the Grace teaching. They said that our church teaches the Word of God much more clearer than their church before. It was so encouraging in our part. We had a visitor who came two Sundays now, he was so grateful of our teaching, especially about the dispensational study of the Bible. After church as he walked home (he lives nearby) he just kept on thanking God and turned around and came back to church and told us how the Sunday school lesson had opened his eyes. So many encouraging testimonies from people we met and from our own people in our church of how God uses our simple ministry to make a difference in their spiritual lives.
What an honor and glory to serve the Lord!
We would like to thank you for your partnership in this eternal ministry. Though you are in the US but you minister to us and to our people through your gifts and prayers. Without your help and the help of the faithful people in the ministry, it would be impossible for us to stay here. This country is so expensive. Everything is expensive. The food and gas are on their 7th increase just this year. The rentals are escalating. The crime is terrible and the peace situation is so fragile. But as hardship continues, the Lord continually opens doors of opportunity for the ministry.
Please continue to pray for more opportunities to spread the Word of Grace. Pray also for our "Family and Friends Service" this Sunday. Some members will bring their unbelieving relatives. Pray for the power of God's Word. We'll recognize some new members next Sunday too. May the Lord will multiply your blessings and bless the works of your hands.
Love,
Dean and Sheba Padayhag TCM-Missionaries South Africa
