Thailand

Current Status:

We are in the USA from August 2016 to July 2017 for a year of home assignment following our first 4-year term as missionaries in Thailand. We will be traveling throughout the USA this year visiting family, friends and churches to share about our ministry in Thailand. As we travel, we are homeschooling our kids Matthias (age 15), Abigail (age 12), and Chloe (age 10) using an online program. We plan to return to Thailand in July 2017.

Dear Friends,

Greetings in the name of the living and true God from Thailand! Five years ago today, on December 9, 2008, our family arrived in Chiang Mai, Thailand. As we celebrate this anniversary, we praise God for His faithfulness. We also give thanks to the Lord for what He has done in and through us in this time. During the last five years, the Lord has helped us (1) adjust to Thai culture, (2) learn the Thai language, (3) understand how to best share the gospel with the Thai people, (4) build friendships and discover avenues for sharing our faith with Thai university students, (5) establish and help lead a Thai fellowship group. By the way, in February, this group will begin meeting weekly on Sunday mornings!

Of course, there are numerous other events and processes that have taken place over the past five years: ways in which our family has grown; friendships we've developed with our co-workers and other missionaries; God's constant provision and goodness, even in times of discouragement and doubt. Certainly, each of these categories contain several stories of their own. Through all of these things, we are "confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in [us] will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus" (Philippians 1:6, NASB). It's not always been easy, but the Lord is working and we are eager to see what He will do in the next five years.

Thanks for your faithful partnership with us in prayer and giving. We trust you are encouraged and will have a Merry Christmas as we celebrate the coming of our Savior into the world.

In Christ's love,

Nathan, Jessica, Matthias, Abigail, and Chloe Romans 15:21

Email Update- March 22, 2011

Hello Friends,

Greetings in the Lord from Thailand! We are working on a new prayer letter, but wanted to send out a quick update and prayer request for you now.

"The Lord is the one who goes ahead of you; he will be with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed" (Deuteronomy 31:8). This verse is very encouraging to us right now. As you may know, we've finished our allotted time for full-time Thai language study and are now shifting our focus onto the ministries of evangelism and church planting. We're planning to reach out to university students through the bridge of teaching English. This age group is most interested in learning English and also most receptive to the gospel message. In order to be most effective in this ministry, we feel it's important to move closer to one of the universities surrounding Chiang Mai. This is where the need for prayer comes in. At this point, we're considering two different universities located on opposite sides of the city. To our knowledge, there are not English ministries specifically targeting either of these schools. Also, there is a possibility of volunteering in the English departments at both universities. Another factor is housing nearby the two schools. We've found a possible rental house near one school and are still looking for housing close to the other university.

So, where do we go? We feel that God is opening doors at both locations, but are really seeking His leading as we make some big decisions in the coming weeks. Thanks for partnering with us in prayer as we wait on the Lord. We are confident that He will lead in His timing. We'll keep you posted on what happens!

In Christ,
Nathan & Jessica Killion
